Edinburgh – London – Toronto – 24 Sep 2013

September 24th

Wake up was 06:30, bags and breakfast at 07:00 and departure for Glasgow airport at 08:00 hrs.

The 07:00 BBC News suggested that fog in the London area was causing problems.

While waiting in Edinburgh airport I heard one flight to London City Airport get cancelled.

But, we were fortunate and only suffered a ten minute delay and boarded our plane at noon.

However, Mr Fog had done his damage and we could not land.  We bored holes in the sky circling south-west of Heathrow and finally landed at 14:00 hrs.

Fortunately we had a Terminal Five to Terminal Five transfer so we did not have to go through security again.  We did have to wait until about 45 minutes before our flight before it was finally revealed that it was gate B32.  That meant taking the lift down to the little train to scoot over to Concourse B.

We did not start boarding until 16:10 so we missed our push back at 16:20 hrs.

The flight from London to Toronto was just over seven hours in a 747-400 and was uneventful.
